The Alternate Minister of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, head of Research & Innovation, Mr. Costas Fotakis, visited the Dutch Embassy in Athens yesterday on October 26th, 2015, following an invitation. During his visit he met with the Dutch Minister for Economic Affairs Mr. Henk Kamp and the newly installed Ambassador Caspar Veldkamp. They discussed issues related to research and innovation, the upcoming assumption of the EU Presidency on behalf of the Netherlands, and the initiatives undertaken by the Research & Innovation Department to create the R&I fund.
At the same time, Mr. Fotakis had the opportunity to converse and exchange opinions with young people who have created innovative businesses and startups that benefit from the support provided by the Dutch Embassy's Orange Grove. Mr. Fotakis talked about the problems and challenges facing young entrepreneurs and analyzed the design and the initiatives undertaken by the Department of Innovation & Research to support startups.
Finally, Mr. Fotakis extended an invitation to young entrepreneurs to visit the Research and Innovation Department at the Ministry to exchange views and ideas in order to strengthen the efforts to support them.
