Theaetus web distance learning and lifelong learning programme starts
Continual developments in the medical sciences and the demands of the labour market render continuing education necessary for healthcare professionals and employees more generally.
The Harokopeion University since its 1990 founding has had a high level of research and an international presence
The Centre of Lifelong Learning of the Harokopeio University, taking into account the need of contemporary society for lifelong learning, and promoting excellence at all levels of education, is inaugurating the “Theaetetus” (from the Platonic dialogue of the same name) programme, a distance learning programme for the non-formal education, training and specialization of adults.
The programme aims to cover a broad spectrum of subject matter – nutrition, exercise and health sciences more generally – with internationally recognised professors and academics.
The educational programme is for graduates and students of universities, tertiary technical schools (TEI), vocational training institutes (IEK) and high school graduates. Participants receive certified training in health science and develop skills in prevention and the promotion of health. There is also a career office, offering information on studies, scholarships, job openings, writing a CV, and familiarisation with job search techniques, including interviews.
The programme opens with nutrition and exercise issues, including “Basic principles for managing adult obesity” and “Basic principles of athletes’ nutrition”.
The starting date for the first cycle of educational programmes will be announced in September.
