On the 5th and 6th of November the biannual meeting of the Research Policy Group was held in Berlin.
The recently established group, which brings together General Directors of Ministries in the areas of Education & Research, is an instrument for freedom of action and for further linkages between European Research departments. It was proposed by France, with the backing of many other EU members.
The issues discussed included, among others, closing the innovation gap and "brain circulation" within the EU.
